Capsule Geology

The Computer showing is hosted in rocks of the Upper Jurassic Telkwa Formation, Hazelton Group. A small Eocene stock of the Coast Plutonic Complex intrudes the strata to the immediate southwest of the area. Extensive masses of quartz diorite of the Middle Jurassic Trapper Plutonic Suite intrude to the north, west and south.

The Computer showings consist of several erratically distributed northwest striking steeply dipping quartz veins in an area of complex geology and are generally hosted by rhyolite flows. The quartz veins are up to 5 metres wide, weakly colloform, discontinuous and barren. Adjacent to the veins low grade alteration primarily epidote in the form of splotches and fracture fillings occur. In 1987, hand trenching was completed across several of the veins, the results of were negative. The best chip sample contained 0.08 gram per tonne gold and parts per billion Au and 0.1 gram per tonne silver Assessment Report 16757). Pyrite and chalcopyrite was noted in a 2 centimetre wide carbonaceous and chert layers.

Refer to New Moon (093E 011) for related geological and work history details of those showings such as the Computer showing that occur on the New Moon property.
